Route 22 lane restrictions on Monday evening

Election reaction?

Well there really weren't many surprises from yesterday's local elections. A local theme appeared to be that every vote counts, as Barbara Van Kirk missed out on the third and final Republican party nomination by eight votes (according to our unofficial numbers gathered at the polling places). Write-in candidates had similar "almost there" experiences — two people in Delmont got 10 write-in votes — which is the minimum needed to get on the November ballot — but those votes were split between the Republican and Democratic ballots, so the candidates fell short. read more »

Get off the road to ruin

It's a shrine honoring the memory of the teenagers who died in a late-night, two-car accident. The teens had been coming from a party where there was alcohol and at least marijuana. read more »

Man found dead in burning car in Murrysville
Submitted by Brian Estadt on March 28, 2007 - 10:59am.03.30.07 UPDATE: The county coroner identified the man who burned to death in earlier this week. The coroner's officer identified him as John L. Bowers Jr., 53, of 5005 Summer Hill Lane in Murrysville and ruled that he died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. read more »

Gauging our evolution into full frontal crudity

Clearly this was serious — not even missing the opening faceoff on the day the Pens were to sweep their mortal enemy could raise my blood pressure. read more »
