Five seconds it is

Well, as we noted last week, it came down to Theo van de Venne. The Murrysville council president cast the deciding vote to permit digital, roadside signs within the municipality to flash a new message every five seconds.
For more on this and other news from last night's (Wednesday's) Murrysville council meeting, see the Sept. 27 issue of the Murrysville Star.

I have not seen any reports that link the length of message to traffic accidents, or any other similar issue. We need to make Murrysville as "business friendly" as possible. If that means flashy signs, so be it. I personally like to be informed by Murrysville Businesses as to what is going on in Murrysville. I travel the entire length of Route 22 at least twice a day.
What is this Monroeville, or Vegas, that's what we are headed for in Murrysville?
Forget that nice cozy, hometown feel we all used to know and appreciate.
"business friendly", read the paper, or the net or all those annoying adds that fill my mailbox(and yours too).
Flashing signs are UGLY too.
