Murrysville Dek Hockey Weekend Information and Week 9 Results
The Murrysville Dek Hockey League will conducts it’s Murrysville Dek Hockey Weekend of its Winter Session. More than 180 players participate in the Chipmunk Division (Ages 6 and under), Penguin Division (Ages 7-9) and Beaver Division (Ages 10-12) in developmental and competitive Dek Hockey. Instructional Clinics are held every Saturday at and Noon. We will crown the champions in the Chipmunk, Penguin and Beaver Divisions. The Playoff Schedule is as follows:

Player of the Week - Beaver Division [10-12]
17 Christian Tierno Beaver Red
Christian Tierno scored five goals in two games as Beaver Red earned two come from behind ties over the weekend. Christian added three assists to figure in on all eight Beaver Red goals.

Player of the Week – Penguin Division [7-9]
7 Ryan Collette Penguin Orange
Ryan Collette scored seven goals in a 11-7 win over Maroon and give Orange a 11-1-0 season record in the Penguin Division. Ryan also seized the lead in the Penguin Division scoring race with 57 points in 12 games.

Beaver Division [10-12]
Saturday February 2nd

Beaver White 3 Beaver Gold 2 Beaver
Highlights: Beaver White and Beaver Gold forgot that the playoffs start next week as the teams battled to a 2-2 tie through two periods. Nicco Cecere scored in the third period and the White defense stiffened for a thrilling 3-2 win over Gold. Austin Avampato and John Bosack scored for Gold and Jamie Mauro had a pair for White. Both goaltenders Bryce Lauer of White and Tyler Watson of Gold play strong games for their teams.

Beaver Blue 5 Beaver Red 5 Beaver
Highlights: Beaver Blue and Beaver Red battled to a 5-5 tie in a wild one at the Dek. Christian Tierno scored a hat trick aand Matt Kerna and Charley Hand scored for Red. Nick Naret and Josh Lewis had two goals each and Nick Gismondi scored for Blue.

Sunday February 3rd

Highlights: Christian Tierno scored his 2nd goal of the game as Beaver Red earned a 3-3 tie with Division Leading Gold. Joseph Powell also scored for Red. Ryan Collette, Austin Avampato and Tyler Watson scored for Gold.

Friday February 1st
Penguin Blue 6 Penguin Maroon 2 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Blue broke open a tight 2-1 game with four goals in a the third period for a 6-2 win over Maroon. Kyle Novak scored five goals and Jamie Mauro added the game winner with eight minutes to go. Tyler Watson scored both goals for Maroon.

Penguin Purple 3 Penguin White 0 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Purple scored a goal in the 2nd and two more in the third period for a 3-0 win over White. Danny Goldstein, Adam Renda and Justin Lewis scored for Purple and Nate Cava earned the shutout.

Penguin Red 3 Penguin Green 4 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Green looks like a team that could play spoiler in the playoffs and they showed it in a 4-3 win over Red. Christian Kitch scored with 3:50 to go in the 3rd period for the game winner and Max Manns, Jake Stackiewicz and Elliott Manns tallied for Green. Tyler Giles had a pair and Json Cerniglia scored for Penguin Red.

Sunday February 3rd
Penguin Maroon 7 Penguin Orange 11 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Orange outlasted Maroon with an 11-7 win. Ryan Collette scored seven goals and Nathan and Nolen Puhala added a pair each for Orange. Matthew Pulsifer scored a hat trick, Anthony Cecere scored a pair and Tyler Watson and Brett Kroh added goals for Maroon.

Penguin Red 3 Penguin Gold 4 Penguin
Highlights: Nick Bernard scored with 2:51 remaining in the third period to give Gold a 4-3 victory over Red. Jake Lauer scored two goals, Garrett Parrish a tally and Bryce Lauer was stellar in goal for Gold. Tyler Giles had a pair and Jason Cerniglia scored for Red.

Penguin Gray 4 Penguin Black 2 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Gray moved up a couple of spaces in the standings with a 4-2 win over Black. Nick Caretta scored twice and Ben DaSabato and BryanPatrick Farren added scores for Gray, while Maxx Mastermonico had another strong start in goal for Gray. Nick Gismondi scored twice for Black.
Penguin Blue 7 Penguin White 1 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Blue nailed down the regular season title with a 7-1 win over Penguin White. Jamie Mauro scored four times, Bradley Brncic added a pair and Kevin Cakanac scored and Danny Soltesz kept the goaltending lead in Penguin. Dustyn Perrin scored for the White.

Penguin Green 3 Penguin Purple 4 Penguin
Highlights: Penguin Purple finished off the season with a hard fought 4-3 victory over Penguin Green. Justin Lewis scored his second goal with under a minute to play for the game winner for Purple, Adam Renda added a pair of goals and Nate Cava played strong in goal. Jake Stackiewicz scored three goals for Penguin Green.

Chipmunk Division [6-U]

Highlights: Chipmunk Gold scored early to defeat Blue and often as the teams prepare for the Championship game next week.
