Pride & Prejudice tells the story of a family in the Victorian era. Mrs. Bennet is determined to get her five daughters married in a period when a woman's sole possible career is matrimony. When the rich Mr. Bingley, his sister Miss Bingley, and their friend Mr. Darcy come to Netherfield Park, the Bennet family life is turned upside down. Jane, the object of Mr. Bingley's affection, Elizabeth, prejudiced against the proud Mr. Darcy, and Lydia, enamoured with a foot soldier, Mr. Wickham, become entangled in a world of love, vanity, and secrecy. And with such characters as Mr. Collins, the awkward preacher with an eye for Elizabeth, Lady Catherine de Bourgh, the vain patroness of the Collinses' estate, and Mr. Bennet, the dry-humored father of five, there is never a dull moment. This play, based on the book by Jane Austen, is sure to leave you content, breathtaken, and hopelessly romantic.
Come see the FR Thespians perform this family favorite!
