How do I sign up?
Look for a link at the top of any page that says "Join Now".
The next page that comes up is our site registration page. Choose a user name of your choice and a valid email address to which you have access. Please fill out all of your information. You must also agree to the Terms of Service.
How do I log in?
Before you can add or edit content, you usually need to log in. You can log in by entering the username and password provided into the "User login" block and hitting "Log-In".
Please note (and this is VERY IMPORTANT): you must have cookies enabled in order to use your account.
When the new page loads you'll see your user name at the top of the page, plus a new tool bar right underneath that. This is the menu you use to start entering and editing content.
How do I edit my account?
Once you log in, you can change your account settings such as information about yourself and how you would like to experience the site. To see what tweaks you can make to your account, log in and look for a link called "my account" in your user block. Click on this menu item and look under the "edit" tab.
Here you can specify things like your contact email and a personal home page. You can also choose a new password. Remember: the personal contact information you enter that appears under Personal Details is only visible to you and the site management; no one else can see it.
What happens if I lose my password?
You can get a new one sent to you by clicking on "Request new password" in the user login block. You can enter either your username or your e-mail address. Shortly, you should recieve a email with a new password.
Why do you ask for so much information at registration?
When you become a member, you have a lot of power to publish to the site and speak your mind. We want our visitors to take accountability for what they post and what they say on this site, and for that, we ask for some personal information. We do not share this info with anybody.
If the Murrysville Star ever wants to publish or quote your entries in the printed newspaper, you may be contacted via emailfor verification.
