Export officials OK $2,000 donation to Medic One
Medic One is getting by with a little help from its friends.
Export officials approved a $2,000 donation to the organization at last week's council meeting.
Council President Barry Delissio said the donation would help serve borough residents.
Solicitor Wes Long said 81 calls were made to Medic One last year from the borough residents and visitors.
However, Export Councilman Stanley Mahinske noted that Medic One does receive money from residents who subscribe to its service. Subscribers pay $45 a year ,with seniors paying $25.
The donation was approved 6-1, with Mahinske opposed.
Murrysville Council budgeted $55,000 to help Medic One buy new ambulances last year.
The company serves Murrysville and Export.
