John Toncich Jr.
Of Delmont
John Toncich Jr., 40-year employee of the East Pittsburgh plant of Westinghouse Electric, died July 2, 2008. He was 77. Mr. Toncich was born Jan. 18, 1931, in East Pittsburgh to the late John Sr. and Domenica (Clarich) Toncich.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Toncich worked as a production coordinator for Westinghouse. He also was a Korean War Air Force veteran and member of the American Legion.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Export, and he also attended services in St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, Delmont.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (Heller) Toncich, with whom he would have celebrated his 50th anniversary on July 19, 2008; son, John (and wife, Martha) Toncich III; five grandchildren, with a sixth soon to be born; a sister, Lina Toncich; and his brother, Joseph Toncich.
He was preceded in death by a sister and his parents.
Private arrangements were handled by Vaia Funeral Home Inc. Mass was celebrated in St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, with the Rev. Bryan Summers of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Murrysville, officiating. Interment was at Twin Valley Memorial Park.

Ronald Reck
Durabond employee
Former Export resident Ronald J. "Ronnie" Reck died July 5, 2008. He was 61.
Mr. Reck was born Jan. 10, 1947, to the late Anthony Reck and Lina (Baggozzi) Reck Rigone.
Mr. Reck was a Vietnam War veteran who served from 1966 through 1970. He worked as a fabricator for Durabond Industries in Export and enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and watching the Steelers.
He had been living in Greensburg.
He is survived by his wife of more than 14 years, Barbara (Ellis) Reck; children, Marlo Reck and her companion, Blaine Gordon, Aaron (and wife, Marsha) Reck of Penn and Ryan Reck; stepchildren, Lance Baird and Rebecca (and husband, Mike) Mahoney; four grandchildren; brothers, Dino (and Maryann) Reck and Andy (and Pat) Reck; a stepbrother, Donald (and Kushleen) Rigone; an aunt; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Domenick Rigone, and a stepbrother.
Friends were received at Wolfe-Von Geis Funeral Home Inc. A service was in the funeral home.
Interment was at Grandview Cemetery, with military honors provided by Greensburg VFW Post 33.
Mary Maher
Great-Grandmother
Mary H. Maher of Murrysville died July 3, 2008. She was 87.
Mrs. Maher was born July 30, 1920, in Schenectady, N.Y., to the late Frank and Anna (Sebesta) Patcovick.
She is survived by a son, Martin (and wife, Norma) Maher; daughter, Maureen (and husband, James) Totos; four grandchildren, James, Christian, Michael and Lisa; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Albena Fiacco; and daughter-in-law, Susan Maher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Maher; son, Michael Maher, in 2008; an infant daughter, Marion; and granddaughter, Donna Maher.
Private arrangements were handled by Hart Funeral Home Inc. A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville.

George Rudolph
Retired draftsman
Former Murrysville resident George I. Rudolph, a retired draftsman who worked for Westinghouse for 37 years, died June 28, 2008. He was 89.
Mr. Rudolph was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Pittsburgh to the late Clyde Ashton and Erma (Roll) Rudolph.
Mr. Rudolph graduated from Westinghouse High School and attended the University of Pittsburgh and Keystone Radio School. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Lionfish as chief radioman.
A member of the Amateur Radio Relay League, he enjoyed ham radio and attained the extra class of license in ham radio.
He was a member of several sportsmen's clubs and the Century Club.
He enjoyed trap shooting and spending time in Myrtle Beach during the winter months.
Mr. Rudolph had been living in Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen (Kovick) Rudolph; sons, Edward (and wife, Rainelle) Rudolph and Kenneth Rudolph; five grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Lisa, Kelly and Michael; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister and his parents.
Arrangements were handled by Hart Funeral Home Inc. Interment was at Union Dale Cemetery in the North Side of Pittsburgh.
Clifford McMaster
Retired carpenter
Clifford V. McMaster of Murrysville, a retired carpenter for Local Union 142, died June 27, 2008. He was 78.
Born Dec. 28, 1929, in Ligonier, Mr. McMaster was a Korean War veteran who served with the Army Paratroopers.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Cohill) McMaster; a daughter, Debbie (and husband, Jim) Battaglia; sons, Clifford Jr. and Edward; two grandchildren, James and Jason; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry McMaster, and a brother.
Friends were received at Hart Funeral Home Inc. A service was in the funeral home.
