Odis Rosborough
Formerly of Delmont

Odis M. "Pete" Rosborough, 86, of Irwin, formerly of Delmont, died June 17, 2008, in Juniper Communities/Wellsprings in Irwin.

Born Jan. 18, 1922, in Blairsville, he was son of the late William and Minnie Rosborough.

Prior to retirement, he was a supervisor at Kennametal in Delmont. Mr. Rosborough was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having become disabled during World War II.

He was a member of North Huntingdon American Legion, Post 922.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora; son, David; son-in-law, William Little; sisters, Elsie, Florence, Martha, Dorothy and Marion; and brothers, Arthur and Charles.

He is survived by daughter, Donna Little of North Huntingdon; sons, Ronald Rosborough and his wife, Cherie, of Hot Springs, Ark.; Raymond Rosborough and wife, Becki, of Greensburg; sister, Mildred Murray of Blairsville; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today (Thursday) at Vaia Funeral Home Inc., 463 Athena Drive in Delmont.

Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. R. Bruce Maxwell of the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Ligonier officiating.

Interment will follow at Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont.

R. Gilmore Snively
Was a Mason

R. Gilmore Snively, 93, of Rosedale died June 22, 2008.

Mr. Snively was a retired sales manager for Edgewater Steel with 47 years of service. He was a volunteer firefighter at Rosedale Fire Department from 1936-62, served on Penn Hills school board from 1948-65, Penn Hills School Authority for eight years, was a 40-year member of Willowbrook Country Club, Penn Justice Free & Accepted Masons 766 and a longtime member of Rosedale United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Alice (McIntyre) Snively; children, Ronald Gilmore Snively and his wife, Dee, of Butler and Carol Dakan and her husband, David, of Murrysville; and three grandchildren, Todd Dakan, Joseph Snively and Scott Dakan.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends were received at English Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont.

Hazel Dunnivan
Great-grandmother of 31

Hazel G. (Clark) Dunnivan, 88, of Murrysville, formerly of Plum, died June 20, 2008, in Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.

Born Dec. 23, 1919, in Barton, Md., she was the daughter of the late Archie and Gertrude Clark.

Mrs. Dunnivan was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Murrysville.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Joseph Dunnivan; children, Ronald and his wife, Helen, of Saltsburg, Jerry and his wife, Pat, of Austin, Texas, Kenny and his wife, Pat, of Apollo, Doris Bioni and her husband, Dennis, of Lawrence, Pa., and Vicky Zimmerman of Greensburg; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert; and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Dunnivan Smith.

Friends were received at Vaia Funeral Home Inc. Mass was celebrated in Union Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kenneth E. Chorle officiating. Interment followed at Twin Valley Memorial Park.

Anna Ruschak
Retired waitress

Anna M. Ruschak, 86, of Penn Township, formerly of Turtle Creek and North Versailles, died June 15, 2008.

Born Dec. 30, 1921 in Lettopalena, Italy, she was the daughter of Charles and Josephine DeVitis Merlino. Mrs. Ruschak was a waitress and hostess for the Plaza Restaurant in Forest Hills for many years.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda Meehan; son, Stephen (Ingrid) Ruschak; sisters, Mary Sambuco and Lucy Koricich; and two grandchildren, Laura and Bridget.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Ruschak; and brother, James Merlino.

Friends were received at Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville, where a funeral service took place. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville. Memorials donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Vernon Lowes
Crane operator

Vernon C. Lowes, 89, of Murrysville, died June 16, 2008.

Born April 21, 1919 in Turtle Creek, he was the son of George and Maude MacFadden Lowes.

Mr. Lowes was a retired crane operator after 42 years of service with the Edgar Thomson Works at Carnegie Illinois Steel. He was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and attended Holiday Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Lowes enjoyed hunting, fishing and rebuilding old tractors, but his family was his top priority.

Surviving are his daughter, Mary Jean (Bob) Swank; son, Charles Lowes; brother, George (Marge) Lowes; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Houth Lowes; son, Richard Lowes; five sisters and three brothers.

Friends were received at the Hart Funeral Home, Inc., Murrysville, where a funeral service took place. Interment followed at Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Boro.

George Vucelich
Retired cab driver

George "Bander" Vucelich, 87, of Delmont, died June 21, 2008.

Born April 1, 1921, in Export, he was the son of Vlade and Mary (Kukich) Vucelich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Nick, Peter and Michael Vucelich; and a sister, Sarah Holsen.

Mr. Vucelich was a retired Yellow Cab driver and worked at Westinghouse. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Monroeville.

Surviving are his siblings, Mildred Derk of Pittsburgh, Vlade Vucelich of Jeannette, Paul Vucelich of Yugoslavia, Sam Vucelich of Export, and Reddy Vucelich of Export; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services were held at Wolfe-Von Geis Funeral Home Inc. in Export with the Rev. D.C. Malich officiating. Interment was in Grandview Cemetery, Export.
